"Celebration of Women" at Lush Life Gallery


Elizabeth and seven other prominent Bay Area women artists have been honored by the Jazz Heritage Center to show their work in celebration of Women's History Month (March), and International Women's Day (March 8). Lush Life Gallery and the Jazz Heritage Center share a lobby with Yoshi's Jazz Club and Restaurant at 1330 Fillmore Street, San Francisco. In addition to music in the lounge during the opening, Yoshi's has a special show that night featuring Big Brother & the Holding Company, Pamela Parker, Nonstop Bhangra and Mondo Loko.

The exhibit is called "Celebration of Women" and the Featured Artists are; Elizabeth Gibbons, Marguerite Brown, Suzanne Cherny, Dolores R. Gray, Karen Seneferu, Leslie Printis, Elly Simmons and Sofanya White. The show runs from Mar. 8 to mid April .

Unveiling powerful new works by Elizabeth Gibbons that are part of her Alchemy of Transformation series. In this series she explores archetypes of the Black Madonna and images of the (s)hero's journey, a homecoming back to the celebration and honoring of the Sacred Feminine, the World Soul, and "Divine Union", the integration of opposites within our psyche.
